Firefox 3.6 provides native support for Macintosh with Intel Core processors, and stability and security enhancements that are part of our ongoing program to provide a safer Internet experience for our users. We recommend that all Firefox users upgrade to this latest version.
Firefox 3.6.x is based on the Gecko 1.9.2 rendering platform, which introduces JavaScript 1.8.2, and has been under development for the past year. Firefox 3.6.x offers many changes over the previous version, supporting new web technologies, improving performance and ease of use, and adding new features for users.
Firefox 3.6 will load webpages 20% faster than version 3.5, reducing their overall speed to just under a second. Web designers will receive a CSS gradient and background and an updated file API for web application developers, to work just like desktop apps. Firefox will also add drag and drop support, and even detect your computer orientation.
